1. Yo! Cider fans!

    Hello cider fans,

May as well introduce myself. My name is Kat. I love cider. I home brew from time to time but I also love to go out for a frosty pint.

I also created a Facebook Page for Cider a while back. Right now it has over 29,000 fans! I could only dream to be a facilitator in such a community but here all you guys are telling me you also love cider too! Right now Facebook says that “cider” is too general of a term for me to own and thus must change the page name in order to authenticate the page and resume publishing privileges.

Here is part of the email I received from Facebook after requesting the name change to “Cider Fan”, to match this new blog:

My apologies but we will only be able to authenticate your Page if we change your Page’s name to “Cider by Kat ******* or www.ciderfan.tumblr.com.” The name change will be applied to the current Page and you will keep all the fans. The reason for this is because since this is a fan page created and administered by you, we would like to put your voice behind it by adding the appropriate byline. Please let me know if I have permission to change your Page name to reflect that and we look forward to assisting you further.”

Cider by any other name would still taste as good, right? True, but I feel that to keep my true voice (along with all of yours!) for the love of cider, the Facebook page should be named “Cider Fan”. If this is not reasonably possible, because I have better things to do than fight with the Facebook administrators forever over a Page name, I will change it to one of their suggested names in order to keep all of you lovely cider fans.

I will keep updating this blog more, amidst the Facebook issue and my own life. I hope you enjoy this blog as well as keep participating and sharing on the Facebook Page “Cider”.

Thank you all! Keep those home brew batches going and have a pint of cider for me!

    Most sincerely,

    _Kat a.k.a. Cider Fan
